Meet Ariel, an expert planner at beautiful Colby Falls in Gilbert, Arizona. Ariel brings over five years of hospitality expertise to her event coordination and planning roles, along with a Bachelor’s degree focused specifically on event planning. We sat down with Ariel to discuss her rewarding career journey in the wedding industry, what she loves about working for Wedgewood Weddings, and some of the heartwarming stories that remind her every day why she pursued this meaningful work. Tell us about your journey in the wedding and events industry!

My journey with Wedgewood Weddings started a little over two years ago. I had recently moved to Arizona from Nebraska after receiving my Bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management with my Event Planning Specialty (try saying that mouthful every time!). After 5 years in the hospitality industry, I came across a coordinator position at one of our other properties in Arizona. I quickly learned the key essentials and grew into the Catering Manager position. The venue grew out of Wedgewood Weddings, and I transferred to Colby Falls.

I've really enjoyed growing and learning at Colby Falls. I was also given the opportunity to support a venue in California for a month. That opportunity really showed me how Wedgewood Weddings emphasizes its core values and close relationships, no matter which venue you're at.

What do you enjoy most about working for Wedgewood Weddings?

One of our core values is to have fun, and that's always been my favorite! I have always felt supported and heard in this company. Even though our job is to make our couples' wedding planning stress-free, we're able to keep a positive and fun attitude in our day-to-day work life.
