Ignore the traditional advice

Have you seen the articles explaining how to carve up your wedding budget with 15% on this and 3% on that? You can take that route or you could start with a formula that makes it much simpler. Decide on how many people you want to invite and then set your per-person price.

  • If you’re planning a backyard wedding with a few bottles of decent wine and catering from a nearby restaurant you could probably make it perfect for $50 per head.
  • If you’re thinking of a classic wedding with onsite catering and a full bar, you need to start planning at around $150 per head.
  • When it comes to extra lavish weddings, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner spent around $2,000 per guest according to Insider.com.
